For every season of life, God's word is our anchor — guiding us with love, strength, and wisdom.
In Uganda, many women never have the chance to finish school. Fewer than a quarter of women over 25 have completed secondary education, and for many, the ability to read and write simply never came within reach. Alongside this, women carry the household, the farm, and often an income too.
These aren't abstract numbers to us. They're the women who walk through our doors — some surviving domestic abuse, some widowed, some raising children alone. What they need is practical skills, an education, and a community that walks alongside them. Stand Up for Women exists to provide exactly that.

One Woman. One Turning Point. — Alice's Story
"Eight years ago, I had just given birth to my seventh child. My husband had left. I was living in a small mud house with a grass roof, and behind me was a lifetime of hardship — I'd had my first child when I was seventeen, and abuse had followed me ever since. I couldn't speak English, and I couldn't stand in front of people and speak at all. My own voice never felt safe to use.
I was one of the first women to join the group. Alongside the skills training, I found something I hadn't had before — other women around me, and a space where I could be counselled and heard, not judged. I learned to read and write, and today I write with careful, beautiful handwriting. I learned English. Slowly, I learned to stand in a room and speak — really speak — and be listened to.
Today, I live with my children in a small room I rent myself. I hold a full-time job, and I run my own coffee-selling business on the side. I'm supporting my children through their education, on my own terms, in my own words. I love the Lord deeply, and I find my peace in praise and worship. I learned that my voice matters."
