Our Story – ChangeTomorrow TEST

In 2016, Jonathan and Dana arrived in Uganda expecting a brief, eye-opening trip. Instead, they found themselves at a crossroads that would change the course of their lives forever.

From their very first steps, they were captured by the spirit of the nation and the open-hearted warmth of its people. They were welcomed with extraordinary generosity and encountered a strength and vibrant joy that left an indelible mark on their hearts. In those quiet moments, God began to open their eyes to a clear purpose — planting a seed that would soon grow into a lifelong calling.

When they returned home, their hearts remained on those red dust roads. Guided by prayer and a deep conviction to step out in faith, Jonathan and Dana realized that God was inviting them into something far greater — to follow His lead and devote their lives to serving alongside the community that had so deeply inspired them.

Exactly one year later, they took the leap and made Uganda their permanent home.

A Step of Faith

Change Tomorrow was born out of that step of faith. Jonathan and Dana simply wanted to walk alongside the community God had called them to serve — learning from their neighbours and building a future together with them. By listening first, planting deep roots, and working together with local leaders and families, they set out to support lasting change through shared life and restored dignity.

Still Here, Still Rooted

Today, Jonathan and Dana are still right there — living deep in the village, sharing daily life alongside the community they serve. Change Tomorrow stands as a testament to what happens when faith and purpose align: a mission dedicated to seeing children and families thrive physically, emotionally, and spiritually, so they can fulfil their God-given potential.

What began as a simple decision to follow God's lead continues to unfold — rooted in a place Jonathan and Dana are proud to call home.

Our Journey

How It All Began

2017

Change Tomorrow was founded by Jonathan Aird and Dana Mateju. After their first trip to Uganda in 2016, they knew they had to return — this time to stay and build something that lasts.

2018

Change Tomorrow became a fully registered charity in Scotland and an internationally registered NGO in Uganda. Land was acquired in Lusanja, Mityana — 10 acres of hope.

2019

Construction began on our first school buildings. The foundations were laid — literally and figuratively — for the education of children in rural Uganda.

2020

Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, work continued. The community rallied together, and our commitment to the children of Lusanja never wavered.

2021

Our school doors opened for the first time. Children arrived hungry for knowledge, and our dedicated teachers began shaping young minds through Christian Classical education.

2022

The school expanded with new classrooms and a daily feeding programme. The Stand Up For Women project was launched, empowering women in our community.

2023

Our farm became fully operational — pig farming, crops, and agriculture training. A sustainability model to ensure the longevity of all our projects.

2024

Bible study, vocational training, and community programmes continued to grow stronger.

2025

Looking ahead — building new classrooms, reaching more families, and continuing to change tomorrow. The best is yet to come.
